Hello
Meet Dr. Melissa Thone
I’m passionate about helping others connect the dots across climate change, infectious disease, healthcare sustainability, and public health preparedness to build more resilient, equitable communities and healthcare systems.
Through Infectious Insights, I provide education, training, and thought leadership to healthcare professionals, public health leaders, and climate advocates. My work focuses on advancing climate-smart, equity-centered approaches to infection prevention, emergency preparedness, and healthcare resilience.
As a Public Health Program Supervisor in Emergency Preparedness for Ramsey County, Minnesota, I lead efforts to strengthen community resilience to climate-driven disasters, infectious disease threats, and public health emergencies.
I also serve as co-chair of both the Minnesota Public Health Association Planetary Health Task Force and the Advancing Resilience & Climate-Ready Healthcare (ARCH) for Health Professionals for a Healthy Climate, and speak nationally on climate and health connections.
